Carrie-Anne Moss

CarrieCarrie-Anne Moss, born August 21, 1967 [1], is a Canadian actress from Canada. After her initial roles on television, she rose to international fame for her part of Trinity in The Matrix series (1999-present). She has starred in Memento (2000) in which she was awarded the Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female, Red Planet (2000), Chocolat (2000), Fido (2006), Snow Cake (2006) for which she was awarded the Genie Award for Best Performance by an actor in a supporting role, Disturbia (2007), Unthinkable (2010), Silent Hill: Revelation (2012) as well as Pompeii (2014). She also played Jeri Hogarth in various television series produced by Marvel Television for Netflix, especially Jessica Jones (2015-2019). Moss was living in Spain when she was offered the role as Tara Judge Nicholas Marshall's clerk in the drama series Dark Justice. This was her first time on TV. She moved from Barcelona to Los Angeles with the series in 1992. Moss quit Dark Justice before the series the third and final season and was replaced by Elisa Heinsohn, who played Samantha "Sam" Collins. She attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena upon her return, and was later a star on the soap opera on primetime at Fox Models Inc., a spin-off of Melrose Place, as a model. In July 1995, the series was cancelled. She headlined a short-lived made-in-Canada series titled Matrix. Through the 1990s she appeared in several television series including Street Justice and Baywatch. Also, she appeared in F/X: The Series and Due South. Due South earned her a nomination in the Gemini Award for Best Guest Actress in the field of drama. She appeared in numerous B-movies parts throughout the decade, including Flashfire (1994) The Soft Kill(94), Tough Guy (1994), Lethal Tender (1996), Sabotage (1996) and The Secret Life of Algernon (1997).
